16/12/2019 SNITZEL COLT RULES $500,000 INGLIS NURSERY
A pair of Champion 2YO Sire titles and 37 juvenile stakeswinners make Snitzel one of Australia’s most desirable sires of robust, precocious & classy juveniles.
His latest star Wild Ruler displayed all of those qualities to win the $500,000 ATC Inglis Nursery 1000m RL on debut at Randwick on Saturday.
He is Snitzel’s third winner of the race after the filly Chance Bye in 2009 and the Arrowfield graduate Odyssey Moon in 2014.
With a debut stakes win on his record and $291,000 prizemoney in the bank, Wild Ruler’s immediate future is likely to centre on Australia’s major Group 1 2YO tests, the Blue Diamond in February and the Golden Slipper in March.
The Snowden stable is over-flowing with 2YO talent, but Wild Ruler now ranks alongside Dame Giselle, Sancy, Aim & Group-placed Arrowfield graduate Stellar Pauline (by Not A Single Doubt).
Paul Snowden says of Wild Ruler, “You only have to look at him. He has everything you want to see in a young horse.”
Bred & sold by Kia Ora Stud, Wild Ruler is the third foal out of the two-time US Grade 2 winner Gypsy Robin (by Awesome Again’s son Daaher), a US$750,000 Alex Kingston purchase from the 2013 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Wild Ruler himself was bought for $525,000 at the Inglis Easter Sale by China Horse Club, Newgate Bloodstock & WinStar, subsequently joined in the colt’s ownership by several other prominent investors.
Snitzel is now only six away from a century of stakeswinners, six of them successful this season, and he again holds top 10 places on the current Australian General, 2YO & 3YO Sires’ premierships.
The three-time Champion Sire’s 56 lots at Magic Millions 2020 include 4 colts and three fillies consigned by Arrowfield.
