1/8/2019  12 for Shooting To Win

Darley stallion Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor) closed out the season yesterday by siring his 12th first crop juvenile winner after Platinum Bullet (2 f ex Raid by Pins) made the perfect start to her career with success at Belmont. A $200,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase by Barry and Jan McRostie from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft, the Simon Miller-trained Platinum Bullet won the Free Entry to Belmont (1200m) juvenile race by a long neck. Sent to the front by jockey Chloe Azzopardi, the filly defeated Long Beach (I Am Invincible), with My Fair Balentine (Trade Fair) another three quarters of a length back in third place. Shooting To Win, who is also the sire of J J Atkins Plate (Gr 1, 1600m) runner-up Kubrick, will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside property for a fee of $22,000 (inc GST) this year.
