Emerging Darley stallion Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor), a brother to first season sire Deep Field, sired his ninth first crop winner yesterday when the Godolphin homebred Special Snap (2 f ex Lobola by Anabaa) won at Warwick Farm. The Rachel King-ridden filly defeated Rotator (Not A Single Doubt) by a length with Splendid Surprise (Showcasing) another three and a quarter lengths back in third in the Shooting To Win @ Darley Handicap (1200m). Shooting To Win, who is also the sire of J J Atkins Plate (Gr 1, 1600m) runner-up Kubrick and Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) (Gr 3, 1100m) placed Shotmaker, will stand at Kelvinside in the Hunter Valley for a fee of $22,000 (inc GST) this year.
