Leading New Zealand jockey Opie Bosson has rushed back to Australia amid fears he may not be able to re-enter the country to ride this weekend with nationwide travel restrictions now in place due to the coronavirus crisis. Bosson rode the Jamie Richards-trained Melody Belle (Commands) to third in Saturday’s AllStar Mile (1600m) on Saturday and will reunite with Chipping Norton Stakes winner Te Akau Shark (Rip Van Winkle) in the George Ryder Stakes (Gr 1, 1500m) at Rosehill this weekend. "Te Akau Racing can confirm that stable rider Opie Bosson is currently en route back to Australia and is scheduled to land in Sydney this evening," Te Akau principal David Ellis said in a statement yesterday
