23/9/2019 Five for Myboycharlie

The ultra-progressive Begood Toya Mother (5 g ex Lady Of Helena by Kaapstad) ran out a dominant winner of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Caulfield yesterday, handing former Vinery Stud stallion Myboycharlie (Danetime) his fifth Group 1 winner in the process. Completing a remarkable rise through the ranks, the Daniel Bowman-trained gelding was not for catching in the straight and came home a length and a quarter clear of Age Of Chivalry (He’s Remarkable), with the same distance back to Widgee Turf (Turffontein) in third. Myboycharlie, who stood at Haras du Mezeray in France for a fee of €7,500 this year, is also the sire of Australian Group 1 winners Peggy Jean and Jameka.
