Jockey Nash Rawiller has made an immediate impression on his return to riding after a long ban with a double at Kembla Grange. Rawiller had six rides at his first meeting since he was sidelined for 15 months for tipping horses he rode in Hong Kong. Rawiller's first winner came aboard the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Botttrained Escaped (Exceed And Excel) at his third ride for the day while his second was much easier aboard Decroux (Lope De Vega) for Jason Deamer at his final ride. Escaped just nudged out the Tommy Berry-ridden stablemate You Rang (Sebring). "We looked at each other on the line and neither one of us wanted to get too excited but I thought I had won, but wasn't too sure," Rawiller told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
Rawiller's first metropolitan meeting will be at Rosehill on Saturday where he six rides on the nine-race card.
After a successful career in Victoria, Rawiller moved to Sydney in 2007 as stable rider for Waterhouse's Tulloch Lodge.
The 44-year-old won three Sydney jockeys' titles before going to Hong Kong in 2014.
