9/11/2020 Harlem heading for Australian Cup

Harlem (Champs Elysees) will have a break before heading to the Australian Cup (Gr 1, 2000m) following his fifth-placed effort in the Mackinnon Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) at Flemington on Saturday. Harlem, now an nine-year-old, finished fourth in the Australian Cup last year and co-trainer Tom Dabernig believes the gelding is still full of life. “It was a brave effort and he’s competed well all spring,” Dabernig told Racing.com. “His nickname in the stable is ‘Benjamin Button’ because he’s aging in reverse, so he’ll head to the Australian Cup again in the autumn after a well deserved break.”
