Former Darley shuttler Hallowed Crown (Street Sense) was provided with his sixth first crop winner yesterday courtesy of Clearly Regal’s (2 g ex Elucidate by Encosta De Lago) victory in the AMH Auto Group 2YO Handicap (1010m) at Moruya. Breaking his maiden at the second time of asking, the Kurt Goldman trained gelding got the better of Affinity Beyond (Starspangledbanner) by half a length, with the same distance back to All In War (The Brothers War) in third. A $70,000 purchase from the Lomar Park Stud draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Clearly Regal joins the likes of Rule The World and Big Hearted as first crop winners for Hallowed Crown, who will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $11,000 (inc GST) this year.
