9/5/2019 12 for Deep Field

Newgate Farm resident Deep Field (Northern Meteor) continued his fine recent run when the Tony McEvoy-trained Xilong (2 f ex Pane In The Glass by Testa Rossa) became his 12th individual winner when landing the My Butcher Maiden Plate (1200m) at Balaklava yesterday. Making her debut in the hands of Todd Pannell, Xilong finished two lengths too strong for the Phillip Stokes-trained Queen’s Song (Camelot) in second, while there was a further nose back to Movandi (Uncle Mo) in third. Xilong is one of three named foals, all of whom have won, out of the Group 3-winning and Group 1-placed Testa Rossa (Perugino) mare Pane In The Glass.
