15/10/2019 Duo attempting to earn Caulfield cup start via Coongy

Chris Waller’s South African import Yulong Prince (Gimmethegreenlight) has one last chance to get into Saturday’s Caulfield Cup (Gr 1, 2400m) when he tackles tomorrow’s final ballot exemption race, the Coongy Cup (Gr 3, 2000m). Yulong Prince has had three starts in Australia so far, finishing less than four lengths behind Black Heart Bart (Blackfriars) in the Underwood Stakes (Gr 1, 1800m) at his last outing. Also trying to win their way into the $5 million staying feature is the Japanese bred Wolfe (Novellist) from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable. He finished third behind Surprise Baby (Shocking) and Supernova (Intello) in The Bart Cummings (Gr 3, 2500m) on his most recent start. Yulong Prince will be partnered by Mark Zahra and Linda Meech will ride Wolfe.

In early betting markets, Yulong Prince is $6.50 whilst Wolfe is the early favourite at $3.60. For Best Odds, Get your Ladbrokes betting account
