The training partnership of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are hoping the Champagne Stakes-bound Loving Gaby is capable of providing them with another top-flight winner following on from their breakthrough Group 1 success with Kenedna (Not A Single Doubt) at the weekend. "She seems to be improving each start and she was strong through the line last start,” Maher told “She’s a big, strong scopey horse so you would think she should run out the mile."
Meanhwile, Godolphin will back Flit (Medaglia d’Oro) up in the ATC Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) at Randwick on Saturday, a week after the James Cummings-trained filly was runner-up in the Percy Sykes Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m).
Flit is among 18 nominations for the Group 1 race which includes Inglis Sires’ (registered as ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes) (Gr 1, 1400m) placegetters Loving Gaby (I Am Invincible) and Castelvecchio (Dundeel). The Anthony Freedman-trained Chenier (Medaglia d’Oro), who was beaten as a short-priced favourite at Sandown last week, will not take his chance. "He's not really a two-year old," Freedman said. "I thought he was OK the other day. That track didn't really work out for him. He's a big striding horse and I think he struggled in that soft ground. He will be fine in the spring."

In early Champagne stakes betting markets, Loving Gaby is the $2.80 favourite. Check out the latest betting markets.
