Tony McEvoy plans to target three-year-old fillies races in Sydney with smart juvenile Pretty Brazen (2 f ex Pretty Penny by Encosta De Lago) after she scored a dominant first-up victory at Murray Bridge yesterday, becoming her sire Brazen Beau’s (I Am Invincible) seventh Australian bred first crop winner and 15th winner overall. Pretty Brazen ($1.14 favourite), who ran fourth in the Blue Diamond Preview (F) (Gr 3, 1000m) last campaign, won the Unicorn Stable Panels/ SABOIS Maiden Plate (1200m) by three lengths over Grabbing Glory (Bernardini), while Undesire (Unencumbered) was another length back in third. A $700,000 purchase by McEvoy Mitchell Racing on behalf of Graham and Linda Huddy’s Peachester Lodge, Pretty Brazen is a half-sister to stakes winners Sertorius (Galileo), Clifton Red (Sebring) and Dollar For Dollar (High Chaparral), who is a stablemate of the filly.
