29/11/2018 Five for Better Than Ready

Well Prepared (2 c ex Sale Eve by General Nediym) produced an impressive display at the Gold Coast yesterday, winning his maiden in style and to become the fifth winner for first season sire Better Than Ready (More Than Ready). Trained at the Sunshine Coast by Stuart Kendrick, Well Prepared led throughout under jockey Damian Browne to win by two and a quarter lengths over Mishani Desire (Real Saga). Scout (Spirit Of Boom) was a neck away in third place.
Kendrick has set his sights on making the field for the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) afer Well Prepared’s eye-catching 900 metre win at the Gold Coast yesterday. "Obviously we will have to head to town to try to get more prize-money for him to get into the Millions," Kendrick said. The trainer saddled Fullazaboot (Sepoy) to finish runner-up in this year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic, which was won by Sunlight (Zoustar). Fullazaboot has since been sold to race in Hong Kong. A $20,000 purchase from the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, Well Prepared joins The Odyssey, Betaima, Lepreezy and Better Reflection as winners for Better Than Ready, who stands at Lyndhurst Stud at Warwick in Queensland for a fee of $9,900 (inc GST).
