31st August 2020 Eustace reaffirms Moir
as Anders’ likely aim
Saturday’s dominant San Domenico Stakes (Gr 3, 1100m) winner Anders (Not A Single Doubt) is likely to head to Melbourne for the A J Moir Stakes (Gr 1, 1000m) in a bid to enhance the colt’s appeal as a stallion prospect. The Everest (1200m) had been touted as an option for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained three-year-old soon after his three-and-a-quarter length Rosehill romp but the Moonee Valley sprint looms large. “I had a chat with the boss (Maher) this morning and that’s where he’s leaning, the Moir,” Eustace told RSN yesterday. “He’s on him at the beach this morning actually and at some stage he will come down for the Moir, that’s the most likely scenario. He’s obviously going to get a lovely weight and if he’s able to jump and run like he did yesterday over 1000 metres at The Valley, he’s going to get a lot of horses out of their comfort zone and be hard to catch.”
