25/6/2018 The Bostonian set to back up in Sunshine Coast Guineas

The Tony Pike-trained The Bostonian (Jimmy Choux) is also set to run in the Sunshine Coast Guineas after his victory at Doomben on Saturday. The lightly raced three-year-old made it two wins from as many starts in Queensland with a strong on-pace performance against his own age, following on from his first-up win in the Daybreak Lover (Listed, 1200m) at the Sunshine Coast on 10 June. “He has pulled up well and provided there are no issues over the next couple of days then we will head into the weekend with a fit and in-form runner,” Pike said. “It was a top performance on Saturday as he was caught a little wide early on with Michael (Cahill) having to give him a dig up to cross over to the front. “Once he got there he relaxed nicely and kept up a very strong gallop throughout to win fairly convincingly. “It was a day that didn’t really suit the front-runners so to do what he did stamped it as a very good effort.” Stablemate Sacred Rebel (Sepoy), who finished ninth behind The Bostonian at Doomben, is also set to line up in the Sunshine Coast Guineas. Pike said: “On the face of it he could have appeared a little disappointing, but circumstance played against him.”
