19/9/2017 Improving Stampede Set For Naturalism

The progressive Stampede (High Chaparral) will attempt to gain ballot exemption for the Caulfield
Cup (Gr 1, 2400m) when he lines up in the Naturalism Stakes (Gr 3, 2000m) at Caulfield on Saturday. The five-year-old has won his last three starts, including the BRC Chairman’s Handicap (Gr 3, 2000m) at Doomben in May, and is one of 25 horses nominated for the Group Three. "We pencilled in the Caulfield Cup as a race we'd love to target with him," co-trainer Adrian Bott said. "His first up win at Moonee Valley gave us a lot of confidence and obviously Saturday is the next natural progression."

In early betting markets for the Caulfield Cup Stampede is $34.
