7/10/2017 Five for Shocking

The Rich Hill Stud-based stallion Shocking (Street Cry) sired his fifth stakes winner when the Murray
Johnson-trained Pure Pride (5 m ex Mamasan by Shinko King) ran out a convincing winner of the Paris Lane Handicap (Listed, 1400m) at Flemington yesterday. The five-year-old had not been successful since breaking her maiden at Ballarat in March 2016, but yesterday she gained a second career victory when beating Wyndspelle(Iffraaj) by two lengths with another length back to Saint Valorem (Ad Valorem) in third. "She got the split a furlong out and exploded,” said Johnson. "I don't have many horses to be running
in these races, so it's awesome.” Pure Pride joins Group One winner Fanatic, Group Two winners
Chocante and Circuit Hassler and Group Three winner Shocking Luck as the sire’s other stakes winners.
