25/1/2018 First winner for Niconoise

Ponderosa Park-based stallion Niconoise (Redoute’s Choice) sired his first winner yesterday when Gottabiton (2 g ex Symphorosa by Rock Of Gibraltar) won easily at Port Lincoln. The Simon Drewitt-trained gelding beat Bedloe’s Island (Statue Of Liberty) by three and three quarter lengths at his second career start. The lightly-raced Niconoise, who is a half-brother to Widden Stud's successful sire Nicconi (Bianconi) as well as the three-quarter brother to multiple Group One winner Niconero (Danzero),
stood for a fee of $4,400 (inc GST) last year.
