16/5/2018  Nature Strip set to join Weir

Talented three-yearold sprinter Nature Strip (Nicconi) is reportedly set to join trainer Darren Weir’s stables. The gelding, who was formerly trained by Robert Smerdon and Robert Hickmott before joining his most recent trainer John Sadler, ran fourth as favourite in the Euclase Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) at Morphettville on 5 May. He was also beaten favourite first-up in the VOBIS Gold Dash (1100m) at Caulfield on 21 April. Nature Strip has won four of his seven starts and is part-owned by Rod Lyons.
