13/11/2017 Kidmenever targets Eclipse Stakes

Trainer Charlie Appleby expects European import Kidmenever (Baltic King) to improve sharply in the Eclipse Stakes (Gr 3, 1800m) at Sandown Hillside on Saturday. The five-year-old stallion ran eighth to Lord Fandango (Lord Of England) in the Herbert Power Stakes (Gr 2, 2400m) at Caulfield on 14 October, an
effort that disappointed Appleby. "We were disappointed in the Herbert Power but they went pretty quick," Appleby said. "We've purposefully given him the time. What we saw in Dubai he had plenty of pace there for the ten furlongs so I don't see any reason dropping back to the nine furlongs (1800 metres) to be a problem."
